Valentine's Day and 1 Year Anniversary Trip

Ryan and I had a nice Valentine's Day, which we celebrated a few days early because we are so busy with school during the week. Ryan took me to:
And it was delicious! We had never been there and we highly recommend it!

We then had a weekend planned for our anniversary weekend. It worked out well to spend time with each other because I would be traveling to DeLand, FL during the week for my internship. We went to Amelia Island. First, we had to drop the dogs off at a friends house and then we had lunch at:
So then we were on our way to Amelia Island :)

We headed to the historic downtown and did some shopping. We also asked some locals where they recommended for dinner because we really wanted to enjoy something local. So of course, we ended up at a microbrewery:

Of course, we needed dessert so we stopped at a local ice cream shop!
Then we went and played putt-putt since the weather was so nice.

We called it a night after putt-putt and enjoyed sleeping in the next morning. The next morning we enjoyed breakfast provided by the resort and then took a nice walk on the beach.
Ryan had been talking about a surprise he had planned and I was just dying to know what it was. Come to find out he had set us up to have a couples massage! And it was wonderful!
We then wanted some local seafood, so the resort suggested we go to:

We didn't want to go back to the resort too early so we decided to go to a local coffee shop where some live music was playing.
Then when we got back to the resort, our room looked like this:
And of course there was champagne and chocolate covered strawberries :)

It was such a nice weekend and I can't believe we've been married for a year now! I look forward to many more years of happiness together! On our actual anniversary on Sunday we enjoyed our wedding cake from a year ago. It still tasted the same and was delicious!

Now I'm out on internship, so I don't know how exciting our lives will be over the next few weeks!

Our Lives Lately

Ryan and I went to the World Beer Festival in South Carolina with my dad, sister, aunt, Wayne, and Walker. It was a lot of fun trying all the different types of beers and spending time with my family.

It's been warm here in Florida, until lately...so I've taken the opportunity to ride my bike on the beach whenever possible! I love living just 25 minutes from the beach :)

This past weekend, we had a jarty, which is a "jean party". I, however, didn't have anything to wear, so I just wore regular clothes :) Themed parties are so much fun because you get to see what everyone else is wearing and what their ideas include. Our physical therapy class has been trying to have themed parties each week since we don't have a busy schedule this semester, but I'm not sure what the next party will entail.

Disney Marathon Medical Team

Hello all! I, as well as a few other PT students in my class, were given the opportunity to be a part of the medical team at the Disney Marathon in Orlando! It was such a great experience and it was nice to be able to get our hands on some "patients". While we were in Orlando, our great friend Laura had a birthday, so we of course took the opportunity to celebrate in downtown Orlando at Rainforest Cafe!

Ryan and I are still painting the house so once it's done I will post some pictures! We are excited to be going to South Carolina next weekend for the World Beer Festival! Can't wait!

*It's a New Year*

Well, the holidays are over and done! Ryan and I were quite busy over the holidays. After our trip to Mexico, we spent some time with my family and friends in South Carolina. Early on Christmas morning, we got up and drove to Morehead City, North Carolina to visit with Ryan's family. On our last day in North Carolina, we got some horrible news that my roommate from college (Aimee)'s sister (Katie) was killed in a car accident. It was devestating! Here's a picture of the beautiful Katie:

Once we returned back to South Carolina, we went to Atlanta for the bowl game. And this bowl game was not too pleasing for the South Carolina fans or a good way to end the football season. We then travelled back to Lexington and then I traveled to be with Aimee and her family at Katie's visitation. We finally made it back to Florida on Monday and now are back in the school mode! Our new task is to paint our house! Can't wait! Here are some pictures from the holidays:

Holidays

Happy Holidays! It has been a busy season for Ryan and I. We both just finished up final exams, packed up, and left for Mexico to celebrate our friends Christy and Ben's wedding. It was fabulous! We had such a great time and really enjoyed the warm weather while we could! The rest of our Christmas break will be spent with friends and family, traveling back and forth between South Carolina and North Carolina. We are also going to Atlanta for the Chick-fil-A Bowl to watch the South Carolina Gamecocks beat the Florida Seminoles!! We have a very busy break, but are glad to be "relaxing" while we can before school starts back. Here are some pictures from Mexico:

*Shutterfly Christmas Cards*

Since Ryan and I moved to Saint Augustine and aren't in the process of moving during Christmas (like last year), we finally have the opportunity to send out Christmas cards (which I've always wanted to do)!  And it just so happens that this year Shutterfly is offering 50 free Christmas cards to "bloggers" this year!  I think it is fate that this opportunity has been presented to me! I always enjoy looking at their site and all of the cute items/ideas they have to offer. I have done a few Shutterfly photo books for family and friends, which have turned out to be a great hit! I also enjoy getting e-mails of the specials they having going on too!

Here's a few links to my favorite things on Shutterfly:

Shutterfly definitely has so many options to offer! Be looking for the Hicks' first (of many) Christmas cards in the mail!

SEC Championship

The question is who is going to win the SEC Championship game tomorrow?

or

Well my prediction is my Gamecocks of course! I think they have had a great season and when they put their mind to something, they seem to accomplish it! We shall see tomorrow though :)
