Hello all! I, as well as a few other PT students in my class, were given the opportunity to be a part of the medical team at the Disney Marathon in Orlando! It was such a great experience and it was nice to be able to get our hands on some "patients". While we were in Orlando, our great friend Laura had a birthday, so we of course took the opportunity to celebrate in downtown Orlando at Rainforest Cafe!
Ryan and I are still painting the house so once it's done I will post some pictures! We are excited to be going to South Carolina next weekend for the World Beer Festival! Can't wait!

*It's a New Year*
Well, the holidays are over and done! Ryan and I were quite busy over the holidays. After our trip to Mexico, we spent some time with my family and friends in South Carolina. Early on Christmas morning, we got up and drove to Morehead City, North Carolina to visit with Ryan's family. On our last day in North Carolina, we got some horrible news that my roommate from college (Aimee)'s sister (Katie) was killed in a car accident. It was devestating! Here's a picture of the beautiful Katie:
Once we returned back to South Carolina, we went to Atlanta for the bowl game. And this bowl game was not too pleasing for the South Carolina fans or a good way to end the football season. We then travelled back to Lexington and then I traveled to be with Aimee and her family at Katie's visitation. We finally made it back to Florida on Monday and now are back in the school mode! Our new task is to paint our house! Can't wait! Here are some pictures from the holidays:

Holidays
Happy Holidays! It has been a busy season for Ryan and I. We both just finished up final exams, packed up, and left for Mexico to celebrate our friends Christy and Ben's wedding. It was fabulous! We had such a great time and really enjoyed the warm weather while we could! The rest of our Christmas break will be spent with friends and family, traveling back and forth between South Carolina and North Carolina. We are also going to Atlanta for the Chick-fil-A Bowl to watch the South Carolina Gamecocks beat the Florida Seminoles!! We have a very busy break, but are glad to be "relaxing" while we can before school starts back. Here are some pictures from Mexico:

*Shutterfly Christmas Cards*
Since Ryan and I moved to Saint Augustine and aren't in the process of moving during Christmas (like last year), we finally have the opportunity to send out Christmas cards (which I've always wanted to do)! And it just so happens that this year Shutterfly is offering 50 free Christmas cards to "bloggers" this year! I think it is fate that this opportunity has been presented to me! I always enjoy looking at their site and all of the cute items/ideas they have to offer. I have done a few Shutterfly photo books for family and friends, which have turned out to be a great hit! I also enjoy getting e-mails of the specials they having going on too!
Here's a few links to my favorite things on Shutterfly:

Shutterfly definitely has so many options to offer! Be looking for the Hicks' first (of many) Christmas cards in the mail!

SEC Championship
The question is who is going to win the SEC Championship game tomorrow?
or
Well my prediction is my Gamecocks of course! I think they have had a great season and when they put their mind to something, they seem to accomplish it! We shall see tomorrow though :)

Back to Blogging...FOR REAL THIS TIME!
Now that my school schedule has slowed down MAJORLY, I can now get back to blogging and update this more often! Recently, we have been VERY busy with school and getting everything ready for the holidays. This year we had our families down to St. Augustine, and it was so much fun! My family came down on Tuesday night (which was my dad's 50th birthday). So when they got here, I had the house decorated and we went to dinner at A1A Ale Works. Then on Wednesday, I got to enjoy time with my family at Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure. Ryan's family got here on Thursday morning and we enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner together. That afternoon we went and saw the new Harry Potter movie at the IMAX theater and came home to take a short nap. At 11:30pm we began black Friday shopping and literally shopped until we dropped at 6am! Friday was my birthday and we mainly rested and went to dinner at my favorite restaurant, Olive Garden. Saturday, we watched history as the South Carolina Gamecocks beat the Clemson Tigers 29-7 (this was the first time in 40 years to have 2 years with consecutive wins by the Gamecocks!) GO COCKS! The next couple of weeks are pretty exciting, yet busy for the 2 of us: final weeks of school/final exams, watching the SEC Championship game, going to Mexico for a wedding, spending time with family and friends for Christmas in both Lexington, SC and Morehead City, NC. Here are some recent pictures of what's been going on in the Hicks' household:

A Couple Days To Look Forward To
Last weekend, Pat and his girlfriend LeAnna came to visit for the 4th of July. We had a great time with them, and it was nice just to relax for a change. We went to Dave and Busters on Friday night (where we got our fun on, as the boys would say). Since it rained the entire weekend, the girls went shopping on Saturday while the boys played golf. Saturday night we cooked out and had a relaxing night. Sunday we went to downtown St. Augustine to watch the fireworks, which were pretty good. Then Monday was back to studying for me.
Not too much is going on this weekend or this week (other than 2 tests). But, my family will be here next Friday, and I can't wait for that!! We are going to Universal Studios on Saturday! So, until next time...
