New Year Resolutions

1. Since Ryan and I have moved to Florida, we have not found a church we would like to call "home" so my first new year resolution is to read the Bible daily and focus more on God. I am following WMHK's Bible reading guide to try and read the entire Bible in one year.

2. Lose weight and tone my body. I need to lose about 15 pounds to be back at my "pre-college" body :) I want to try and lose this weight before May because Ryan's family is taking us to Europe for a graduation present. The hard part will be keeping the motivation to exercise while in my last semester of PT school.

3. Be more organized. For those of you who really know me, you are probably thinking how can I become more organized than I already am?? Well, by being more organized, I mean keeping my house more organized. Throw away things I don't need, vacuum more often because of the dog hair, etc.

4. Ryan and I have already started cooking more before the new year, so I want to continue this trend to eat out less. Each week, I write out a menu for dinner so we aren't tempted to eat out so often.

5. Since I will be graduating PT school in April and Ryan will graduate law school in December, I really want to get a hold on our finances. The past 2 years we have lived off of student loans, and the last thing I want to do is splurge my REAL paycheck when I start working. So I am looking for a good way to start managing our finances better, so if you have any suggestions please let me know!

6. Run a half marathon. My resolution last year was to run in the first annual Columbia marathon this March, but with my back problems and tendonitis in my leg I was unable to accomplish the necessary training for the marathon. So, as I'm trying to lose weight this new year I also plan to train for a half marathon probably in the fall.

Here's to the new year and resolutions!

Christmas and New Year's Eve

Ryan and I were able to go to North Carolina to visit his family the week before Christmas. We then spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with my family in South Carolina. It was so nice to be with both families during the holidays. Here are some pictures:

We then came back to St. Augustine to celebrate the New Year with some of our friends here! Here are some pictures:

Up next: Exit Exams for PT school are tomorrow, so once those are done I'll be posting my new year resolutions :)

Encouraging Word Wednesday

"He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along."

My Birthday Weekend

I went home for Thanksgiving this year (Ryan had to stay in Florida because he had finals), and I really enjoyed the family time! Wednesday was my dad's birthday, so we celebrated by going to the Flying Saucer for drinks. Thursday, Lindsay and I woke up early to do a 5 mile Turkey Trot, which was a lot of fun :) and then spent the rest of the day spending time with family and resting for Black Friday shopping. Friday, Lindsay and I went shopping! We hit Wal-Mart at 10pm and Kohl's/Target at midnight, but instead of shopping the entire night we decided to go home to sleep and wake up to go to the mall to shop more. Our intention was to buy our Christmas presents for everyone, instead we bought everything for ourselves :) Saturday was my 25th birthday and the Carolina vs. Clemson game, so we spent the day tailgating (Ryan was able to come up for the game and my birthday). So here are some pictures:

Fall = Football and Weddings

Last weekend, we went back to South Carolina for our friend, John David's, wedding reception. He got married over the summer in Minnesota and this was his South Carolina reception. It was so great to catch up with old friends from the church youth group. And of course, Saturday we spent the day at the football game! We will be heading back to South Carolina for Thanksgiving, my dad's birthday, my birthday, and the Carolina vs. Clemson game :) Here are some pictures from last weekend:

Weddings, weddings, and more weddings

Last weekend, Ryan and I went home for not one, but TWO weddings in the same day! We enjoyed spending time with great friends at each wedding too! We will be heading back to SC this weekend for another wedding reception and the Carolina vs. Florida football game! Here are a few pictures from the weddings and having some fun afterwards:
