'Tis the Season :)

Well, it's been a while since I've posted, but we have been super busy! We went back to Lexington for Thanksgiving (and my birthday). Thanksgiving/my birthday was fabulous and I was glad I could spend time with my family. That night, my dad and I went to the Saucer to celebrate my birthday. Then on Friday, I helped my dad clean pools since he was still unable to walk. And boy was that water COLD!!!!! Ryan also bought my wedding band :) That Saturday was of course the Carolina vs. Clemson game. And it was a GREAT game! GOOOOOO COCKS! My friend, Casey, and I chased down the local news station to be on t.v. and they told us we would be on at 6. However, we were not :( Here are some pictures from the game:

Saturday after the game, we went out for my birthday! It was lots of fun, and I was glad to spend time with my friends :) While we were still in town, Ryan re-applied for his passport so we can go on our honeymoon and we got our marriage license!

When we got back to Florida, we had to go to work unfortunately. Then last weekend, Ryan and I bought a new couch :) and his wedding band. We felt accomplished! Now we are currently trying to close on the house. Hopefully, it will be this week. We just have to submit 2 more papers on Monday and then it will take about 48 hours to process and then a turn around time of 1 day for us to sign the papers! We are doing the walk-thru with the builder on Tuesday morning. We can't wait! Until then, here is the finished product of the house:

It's Beginning to Look a Lot like Thanksgiving! (And my Birthday!)

Since the last post, not much has been going on. We went home for the Carolina vs. Florida game, which was a lot of fun minus the rude Florida fans that sat behind us! We got to catch up with old friends, each chicken bog, and spend time with family. That Sunday, we helped Ryan's sister find a red shirt for her DECA competition. Then we had to head back for work on Monday morning! So it was a short, but great weekend!

This past week was just a normal work week. However, on Thursday night we went to A1A Ale Works because they were tapping their winter ale (and it was free). Ryan and I decided to eat some beer cheese soup at the bar too. And much to our surprise, we started talking to a man at the bar who ended up paying for our meal! It was sooooo nice and we were soooo thankful for that!

This weekend we had a lot of errands to run. We had to get more bubbles for the wedding reception, ribbon to tie on the bubbless, my dad a birthday present, exchange my birthday present for a bigger size, get my hair cut, and go look at our new house! I even bought Ryan's wedding present :) Here are some pictures of the house almost complete:

Well, tomorrow is my daddy's birthday! And we are going home for Thanksgiving and my birthday! We are so excited about that! So, until next time....

My BiRtHdAy Month!!!

Our week was pretty unproductive, considering I was sick for the most of it. Last Monday, I went to work and by the end of the day, just felt HORRIBLE! So, I had Ryan meet me at the walk-in doctor's office so I could see what was wrong. Much to my surprise, the doctor said they were too busy (there were only 2 people in the waiting room) to see me that night. So, I decided I would just get up early and go to the doctor's office near my work. I went there on Tuesday morning, and was given a flu test (and realized I lost 5 pounds)!!! The doctor came in at first and told me my flu test came back negative and I had broncitis, and he would go write a prescription for me to get rid of my cough. Well, when he came back in he said right before he threw the flu test away, he checked it again, and it changed to positive. Please tell me how that happens?!?! So then I was diagnosed with the flu. He told me I needed to stay out of work for a week (which would be November 11). I was just thinking to myself that I cannot miss a whole week of work since I don't get paid days off yet! So, I was feeling better and went to work Thursday and Friday. I did Lysol the whole house so Ryan wouldn't get sick, which thankfully he hasn't!!!! *Fingers Crossed*

On Thursday night, we took Reece to a training class on chewing and jumping up, since he likes to chew on wood and jump on everyone that walks in the house. We learned that he tears up the house when we are gone because he isn't getting enough exercise. So every morning when I go running, he is now going with me to get his exercise!! We also learned that he chews on stuff because he doesn't have enough chew toys, so Ryan and I bought him a compressed rawhide bone which lasts longer than normal bones and a "kong" which you put peanut butter in and it keeps him occupied for a while because it takes a while to get the peanut butter out. And we are currently training the OFF command so he won't jump on everyone that walks in the door. This just means we ignore him until he sits down and then give him attention and don't let him jump up on the furniture. Hopefully, all of this will work out and he will be a well-trained dog!

Friday marked the day for 4 MONTHS until the wedding!!! On Friday night we just went and grabbed a quick bite to eat and had a relaxing night with the dog. It was nice to finally have nothing to do. Saturday morning we went and looked at the house! They have the cabinets in the kitchen and bathrooms, the countertops in the kitchen and the bathroom, all of the appliances minus the refridgerator and washer and dryer, and the landscaping done! It is all coming together, and we are soooooo excited! Saturday night, Ryan wanted to go to a car show in Jacksonville. We went, but weren't that impressed. Ryan was under the impression that more car vendors would be there (there were only 3 there). After we left there, we just decided to eat at the food court in the mall because we both wanted something different: he wanted pizza and I wanted chinese food! So far today, we have taken the dog for a walk and I watched the church service online again :) We are hoping this week goes by fast because we get to go home this weekend for the Carolina vs. Florida game!!!!

The End of October

There has been a lot that has happened since last post. First off, my daddy broke his leg on October 23 and has been pretty depressed about that. It makes me sad too because I'm 5 hours away and can't help him with anything. All I've been able to do is give him my expertise advice since I did major in Exercise and Sports Science in college. Daddy was debating whether or not to have surgery because he hates that he can't do anything. He made the right decision and is having surgery this Wednesday, November 4. Please pray for a strong recovery.

Ryan and I got to spend the day at Disney Quest and putt-putt thanks to my best friend, Nicole, for giving us their left-over tickets :) We did that last Sunday and had a blast!! We were going to go to the water park; however, it was only about 75 degrees that day, so we would have been a tad bit chilly.

Also, our house is coming along so fast and now we have less than a month until we close on it! We are getting so excited about it! Here are a few pictures of the updated house (it has been updated even more but I haven't taken pictures yet, those will come later)!

Ryan and I had a few trick-or-treaters, and that was pretty fun, except we ran out of candy before all the trick-or-treaters got throught the neighborhood. We had a lot of fun though. Today, my sister sent me a message about this awesome church service she went to. She told me I could watch it online. I thought this would be pretty cool since Ryan and I haven't found a church down here yet. And how convienient the church series on Don't Get Married Until....just started today. I really enjoyed it and look forward to watching online again next Sunday. Now it's back to another work week :) Until next time!

P.S. It's by birthday month!!

*OcToBeR*

Well, it's beginning to feel like fall in Florida.....but only until tomorrow. It's been in the mid to high 70's since last Friday, and has even gotten into the low 50's at night! It's been soooooo nice to just have the windows open and turn the air conditioner off, not to mention it saves money too!

Ryan and I were delighted to have my parents and sister here this past weekend. On Friday night, we ate at A1A Ale Works (where Ryan had some soup that was "da bomb"). After that, we went to a place called J.P. Henley's that has over 50 wines on tap and over 200 bottled beers. On Saturday, Ryan and I took my parents and sister to see our new house. They seemed to like it, so all is well :) We then spent the rest of the day shopping at the outlets where I got a few things(thanks Momma!). Saturday night, we grilled hamburgers so we could watch the Carolina game. Good game, but not so good outcome :( Sunday, my family left because Lindsay had to get back to school because she had a test on Monday.

So, on Sunday, Ryan's boss generously gave us his tickets to the Jacksonville Jaguars game. They played the St. Louis Rams. The tickets were in the Touchdown Club Level, which was pretty nice, other than it was pretty chilly when the sun wasn't shining. It was a close game, but the Jags pulled out a win (in overtime!). Ryan and I have been busy at work this week and have a relaxing weekend to look forward to! Until next time....

It's Been A While....

Last time I updated was when we went home for Lindsay's birthday! ALOT has happened since then! To begin with, Labor Day weekend, our friends Laura and Kyle came down for the weekend! We had so much fun catching up and hanging out! Laura cooked us a fabulous dinner (Campfire Chicken). And we went to the beach (and got REALLY burnt, or at least I did)! It was so nice to have them down to visit :) Then Ryan and I went home for the first home Carolina football game! GOOOO COCKS! So, you know we enjoyed that! And we celebrated Ryan's sister's sweet 16 birthday :) But unfortunately, the trip was short and we had to come back for work on Monday :( Next on the agenda was Aimee, Brittany, Casey, and Daniel coming down to visit, and that same weekend Reece got fixed :( It was so nice to see my roomies and their loves! We mainly relaxed and shopped while they were here, which was nice for a change :) Reece was still recovering that weekend, but now he is back to his normal, HYPER self!
The next weekend, Ryan and I had one of his friends and his girlfriend over for a cookout. It was nice to finally meet some new people. And ironically, Ryan's friend's girlfriend is going to school with me at the University of St. Augustine; she is doing OT instead of PT though :) It's still nice that I'll know at least 1 person on my first day of school!

That same weekend, Ryan and I began looking for houses as our landlord as screwed us over (long story, won't get into it on here). We finally put an offer on a house, and THEY TOOK IT! So now Ryan and I are officially under contract. As of right now, we close on our house November 30 :)

This past weekend, Ryan and I went home for the weekend. I got my bridal portraits done; can't wait to see how they turned out! Ryan went to the Carolina game with my dad, and then we cooked out for my nana's birthday :)

I think that is about all that has happened since the last post! I will try to get better at updating the blog....sometimes I just forget about it! Up next: my family coming down to visit this weekend!!!!

P.S. Less than 5 months until the wedding!!

Lindsay's Birthday :)

This past weekend, we went back home for Lindsay's birthday. Ryan worked half a day on Friday so we got home around 6:30 and went to dinner at Carolina Wings with our families. Then of course, we had to go to the Flying Saucer, so we did. Saturday was a busy day. I got up early to take the dog to the vet to get his nails clipped, then I had to go to David's Bridal to get fitted for Aimee's bridesmaid dress :). Next stop was First Impressions....to pick up my wedding dress! YAY! Saturday night, we drove to Greenwood for Lindsay's birthday since she couldn't come home and we ate at a Japanese restaurant. Can you believe the restaurant gave her a $20 gift card since it was her birthday?!?!?! Sunday, we had to get up early to come back to Florida since I had to work Sunday night.

I haven't been working very much because they have 3 pages of employees and the most hours anyone gets is 16. So I am still currently looking for another job to pay the bills. Ryan loves his job and has been there for a month already! Time flies!! We don't have very much going on in the next few weeks, other than Laura and Kyle hopefully coming to visit in September. We are planning on coming back to SC for the first Carolina home football game!

Until next time...

The Start of Something New

So, it's been about a week since I've updated. So here's what's been going on. Last weekend, my parents, sister, Walker, and Barley came to visit. It was nice just to catch up and see them since it had been about 3 weeks. Friday night we went to a seafood restaurant called Saltwater Cowboys and it was delicious! After dinner, we just went back to our house and chatted/relaxed. Saturday morning, Ryan got up to go meet his parents to trade in his X-terra for something with better gas mileage. He got a black 2 door Honda Civic. While Ryan was doing that my family and I went to the beach for the day. We took the dogs and it was sooooo much fun! We grilled steaks that night and relaxed once again. Sunday, we just went to lunch at CrackerBarrel and then they packed up their stuff and headed home. Ryan and I went over to the neighbors that night for drinks and got to know them a little better.

This week has been pretty much unproductive. Tuesday I started my new job at the Polo outlet, but I was only there for 2 hours since it was orientation. My first official day is this coming Tuesday, so we will see how that goes. Ryan's been at work all day so the dog and I have been learning new tricks. He now knows how to speak and we are currently working on how to shake.

We don't have anything planned for the weekend. We are hoping to go back home next weekend since it's my sister's birthday, but it all depends on my work schedule. I also need to go home so I can try on my bridesmaid dress for Aimee's wedding, try on my wedding dress so I can get my veil, and meet with Jennifer and Jessica to get fitted for their bridesmaid dress; however, I'm not sure when I'm going to get all of that done! Well, that's about all for now, so until next time :)

7 Months!!!

Well, 7 months from today I'm marring my best friend! I'm soooo excited, yet soooo stressed. I have the majority of my planning finished. However, my DJ backed out on us about a month ago, so we are still trying to find one within reason of our budget. Next on the list to get done after booking the DJ is flowers. My bestie, Nicole and I were trying to decide which flowers I should use...we came up with tulips, daffodils, or roses. Let me know if anyone has any advice. Decisions, decisions...

Yesterday, I got to talk to my sister, Walker, and Barley (the dog) on Skype. It was sooo much fun and I can't wait to see them this weekend. Ryan and I cleaned out our closet so we are taking the clothes to Plato's Closet today; hopefully, we will get some extra cash for our donations :)

I've been on my diet/exercise routine for exactly one week; however, I don't see any results yet :( But I'm not getting my hopes up. I've been doing the Biggest Loser workout video, and boy does that work you! Ryan and I are saving our money right now, so once we get to where we want to be with that we are going to join a gym, but until then I'll be doing workout videos and running around the neighborhood.

I probably won't be updating this weekend since my family will be here, so until next week...Have a fabulous weekend :)

Giving this a try :)

So, I wasn't so sure about this blogging experience, but I thought I would give it a try to keep everyone up to date. As most everyone knows, Ryan and I have moved to Florida. We are currently renting a house in St. Augustine, but really want to buy it after our lease is up. We really like it down here; however, we miss our family and friends ALOT!

Ryan started a new job yesterday at a law firm and seems to like it so far. I, on the other hand, am suppose to start a job next Tuesday at Target. I will only be working at Target for a short time since I will be starting graduate school in January :)

We have been looking around the area for a church to join (which is another way to make friends). A couple of weeks ago, we went to a Lutheran church (since I'm Lutheran); however, it was not what we expected. So, some neighbors down the street invited us to their church (which is right down the road from our house). It is part of the Southern Baptist Convention, so we were a little weary about trying this out, but we wanted to go to show our appreciation to our neighbors. Come to find out, we REALLY liked the church (it was a contemporary service), so we will probably be returning in the weeks to come and look forward to meeting new people!

On a different note, tonight we are going to see the new Harry Potter movie, since our kind neighbor (different from the ones that invited us to the church) gave us tickets! As for the weekend, we are really looking forward to it since my parents and sister are coming visit; we have a lot we want to do in a weekend.
